4. Camera Features

4.1 Image Format Control

This feature changes the camera image output size and format settings.

Item Setting Value Description
Width, Height,
Offset X, Offset Y
(Integer) Changes the image output size and offset (pixel coordinates).
WidthMAX >= Offset X + Width
HeightMAX >= Offset Y + Height
ReverseX, ReverseY True / False Flips the image vertically or horizontally.
Pixel Format Mono8/10
Bayer8/10
RGB8 Degree
RGB8 Polarization
Changes the format used when transferring images to the host. Refer to section 4.1.4 for the detailed transfer order.
Output Format Selector Intensity(S0)
AoP
DoLP
0 Degree
45 Degree
90 Degree
135 Degree
AoP: Outputs the average angle of light entering each pixel.
DoLP: Outputs the degree of polarization as a brightness value.
Intensity: Outputs the brightness of incident light.
Degree: Outputs images for 0, 45, 90, and 135 degree angles.
Test Pattern Off
Vertical Ramp
Horizontal Ramp
Selects the test image.

4.1.1 ROI (Region Of Interest)

By setting Width, Height, Offset X, and Offset Y, only the desired image area can be output. The frame rate increases as the output image size becomes smaller.

ROI region of interest diagram
ROI setting concept

Note

  1. The frame rate changed by ROI can be checked through the Resulting Frame Rate parameter.

4.1.2 Reverse X, Y

This feature flips the image horizontally or vertically.

  1. When Reverse X is set to True, the image is flipped left and right. (Bayer RG -> Bayer GR)
  2. When Reverse Y is set to True, the image is flipped top and bottom. (Bayer RG -> Bayer GB)
Reverse X false Reverse Y false
Reverse X = False
Reverse Y = False
Reverse X true Reverse Y false
Reverse X = True
Reverse Y = False
Reverse X false Reverse Y true
Reverse X = False
Reverse Y = True
Reverse X true Reverse Y true
Reverse X = True
Reverse Y = True

Precautions

  1. When Reverse Y is selected, Defect Filter use is limited and defective pixels may appear. Exposed defective pixels can be removed in the Defect Pixel Correction category.
  2. When ROI and Reverse are used together, ROI is applied to the reversed image. When Reverse is enabled, the image start coordinate (0,0) is reversed. To capture the same region as before Reverse is applied, the image offset must be set to Total Size - ROI Size.

4.1.3 Pixel Format

This feature changes the image pixel format. Because each pixel format transfers a different amount of image data, transfer speed and bandwidth can vary.

8-bit image data format
Mono8 / Bayer8
8-bit image data into 8bits
Description : 8-bit monochrome unsigned
Pixel Size : 1byte
Pixel Value range : 0 to 255
10-bit image data format
Mono10 / Bayer10
10-bit image data into 16-bits
Description : 10-bit monochrome
Pixel Size : 2byte
Pixel Value range : 0 to 1023
BGR8 image data format
BGR8
24-bit image data into 24-bits
Description : 8-bit color component in one byte
Pixel Size : 3 bytes for 1 pixel
Pixel Value range : 0 to 255
